New Life Residential and Training Center
We are a faith-based nonprofit organization in Bakersfield, California. Our primary focus is helping disadvantaged men—including former foster youth, veterans, and ex-offenders—transition from life on the streets or incarceration to self-sufficiency.
Our center operates on the “Sanctuary Model,” which is a trauma-informed approach to recovery. Rather than just focusing on sobriety, our program aims to address the root causes of instability through character development and vocational empowerment. New Life Residential and Training Center was originally incorporated in 1999 as a joint venture with DOD Construction Company to provide a structured, drug-free environment for adult males.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and lasting independence. As a faith-based organization, we are guided by principles of compassion, accountability, and hope, providing 24-hour supervised residential care, substance abuse education, mentorship, vocational training, and employment support. By connecting individuals to health services, education, community resources, family reunification, and permanent housing opportunities, we help create stable foundations for long-term success and meaningful reintegration into society.
